My name is Lynn.
I chose Club Wyndham Kirra Beach for my last holiday to celebrate my birthday. The Gold Coast is an exciting place for a getaway as there are lots of fun things to keep you occupied. However I prefer the southern end of the coast e.g. Kirra, Coolangatta, Greenmount
On arrival, you will encounter a warm welcome from the reception staff. I parked my car in the underground car park & there my car stayed until it’s time to go home YAY!!!!! Trolleys are available to transfer all your necessary items to your allocated room. In the past there has always been a surprise bottle of champagne in my apartment.
The Club Wyndham Kirra Beach is well positioned. Just cross the road from the back gate and you are on the sand.
The resort is within walking distance to surf clubs, restaurants, hotels, supermarket and bakery. If you wish to dine at the Mexican restaurant you will have to make a booking – its very popular. For the ladies there is some great shopping to be done close by. The Gold Coast City Council has an excellent bus service which I use regularly.
The bus stop is at the back gate to enable you to begin your journey and drops you off across the road on your return. The drivers are so helpful if you don’t quite know which ’service’ takes you to your intended destination.
The Kirra beach (pic below) is safe for a swim and life savers are provided for your water safety at all beaches. My favourite beaches for a swim are located at Coolangatta and Greenmount. PLEASE SWIM BETWEEN THE YELLOW FLAGS – they are not there for beach decoration.
The pic below was taken from the Coolangatta restaurant. Such an inviting place to have a morning swim and then enjoy a wonderful lunch – just beautiful!
The surf club restaurants have great food and the meals are reasonably priced. It’s so cool to enjoy a meal while overlooking the ocean – the views are amazing.
The clubs no longer have ‘a free pick up and drop off’ service, but the local bus routes will accommodate your needs. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of rising early, smelling that ’salt water’ and enjoying a vigorous walk along the beach before breakfast. Your room has sufficient tea, coffee sugar etc for your stay – the supermarket is close.
The apartments are well appointed. I chose a 2 bedroom apartment to accommodate family / friends. The main bedroom and ensuite are pictured below.
The 2nd bedroom had twin beds with access to a large bathroom. In my apartment the laundry was in this larger bathroom. There is more than ample space in the built in cupboards in each bedroom.
I had a great dining room & the kitchen catered for all your cooking etc needs. It included a welcoming lounge room. There was a television in the main bedroom and in the lounge / sitting room.
I got the council bus to meet my daughter at Burleigh for my ‘birthday dinner’. The bus driver assisted me in reaching my destination. My daughter chose an amazing restaurant in a fabulous location where we had a wonderful time together.
The resort has many activities for your enjoyment e.g. putt putt golf, BBQ area, gym and swimming pool to name a few. As I’m on the coast the sea has a lot more appeal for a swim than the swimming pool but hey each to his own.
Well I hope the story of ‘my last adventure’ at the Club Wyndham Kirra Beach has given you some insight as to what you can look forward to at Kirra, Queensland, Australia.
Enjoy your next holiday at Club Wyndham Kirra Beach.
